Wanneer je vaker zelf stempels maakt, dan weet je dat Speedy Carve van Speedball een heel fijn materiaal is. En mocht je niet zo vaak stempels maken, dan zal ik even kort vertellen waarom Speedy Carve ideaal is om stempels te maken :). Het is zacht maar niet te flexibel carving block, waardoor je heel fijn en precies kan snijden. De lijnen blijven scherp en omdat de blokken wat dikker zijn hoef je ze niet te verstevigen om te gebruiken bij het stempelen. Maar, de prijs van de Speedy Carve is wel een dingetje, het is zo duur! 

Bij Loes van Oosten zag ik een tijdje geleden al de Factis blokken voorbij komen. Loes is trouwens een illustrator die veel met stempeltechnieken werkt. Misschien ken je haar al? Een tijdje daarna tipte ze me op de blokken en op de beurs nam ik een proef stukje mee om ze zelf te proberen! Ik was blij verrast, want ze werken absoluut bijna hetzelfde als de Speedycarve. Ik heb eigenlijk geen verschillen gevonden, behalve de kleur van de blokken. Oh yes, thanks voor de tip Loes!

Eigenlijk heb ik ze daarna meteen ingekocht en met twee weken was er een hele pallet met carving blokken! Oh yes. Dat klinkt trouwens heel indrukwekkend, maar omdat de carving blokken zo zwaar zijn worden ze al snel per pallet vervoerd. En er is geen betere raad dan voorraad, haha. Sinds vandaag staan ze in de shop. Ze zijn dus zeker een aanrader <3.

When you often make stamps yourself, you know that Speedy Carve from Speedball is a very nice material. And if you don't make stamps that often, I will briefly tell you why Speedy Carve is ideal for making stamps :). It's soft but a not too flexible carving block, so you can cut very fine and precisely. The lines remain sharp and because the blocks are a bit thicker you do not have to reinforce them to use when stamping. However, the price of the Speedy Carve is a thing, it is so expensive!

A while ago I saw the Factis blocks pass by Loes van Oosten. Loes is an illustrator who works a lot with stamping techniques. Maybe you already know her? A while after that she tipped me on the blocks and at a fair I took a sample piece with me to try them myself! I was pleasantly surprised, because they work almost the same as the Speedycarve. I actually didn't find any differences, except for the color of the blocks. Oh yes, thanks for the tip Loes!

Actually, I immediately bought them and within two weeks there was a whole pallet of carving blocks! That sounds very impressive, but because the carving blocks are so heavy, they are quickly transported by pallet. And there is no better advice than stock, haha. They are in the shop from today. And they are definitely recommended <3.
