De Holbein Acryla Gouache is een super leuke verf om mee te werken. Acryla is een mix tussen gouache en acrylverf. Gouache is een dekkende waterverf en acryl een watervaste verf. Dit betekent dat deze verf op zal drogen met de look van gouache maar wel watervast.

Wat is nu eigenlijk het verschil tussen Acryl en Gouache?
Acryl is een watervaste verf. Gouache is nog te activeren met water. Wat betekent dat als de verf is opgedroogd je hem altijd nog kan gebruiken door er water bij te doen. Of dit nu op je palet is of op het papier zelf. Met gouache kun je dus wat langzamer werken. Het gebruiken van gouache kan iets minder handig zijn als je in meerdere lagen wil werken. Dan is het juist handig als je een acryla gouache hebt. Omdat als de laag eronder is opgedroogd deze niet meer zal mengen met de bovenste laag. Wat bij een gewone gouache wel gebeurt.

Wat is er zo bijzonder aan deze verf?
De Acryla Gouache heeft een beetje de beste kwaliteiten van beide verfsoorten. Het mooie van gouache is dat deze mat opdroogt, dat doet de Acryla Gouache ook. Acyrl droogt namelijk vaak wat glanzend op. Een acrylverf is vaak redelijk dekkend maar bevat bevat meestal wel 20% doorzichtig acryl materiaal. Bij de Acryla is dat een heel stuk minder, dus deze zal net zo dekkend zijn als een gouache. Alleen droogt hij watervast op en op dezelfde manier als een gouache dat doet.

Holbein Acryla werkt ook erg fijn door de mooie, heldere kleuren die ze hebben. Holbein maakt namelijk alleen kunstenaarskwaliteit producten.

What is the difference between Acrylic and Gouache paint?
Acrylic is a waterproof paint. Gouache can still be activated with water. Which means that when the paint has dried, you're still able to use it by just adding water. Whether this is on your palette or on the paper itself. Which means that you can paint slower with gouache. Using gouache can be a little less convenient if you want to work in multiple layers. Then it's useful if you have an acrylic gouache. Because if the layer underneath has dried, it will no longer mix with the top layer. What happens with an ordinary gouache.

What's so special about this paint?
The Acryla Gouache pretty much has the best qualities of both paints. The beauty of gouache is that it dries matte, as does the Acryla Gouache. Acyrl often dries a bit shiny. An acrylic paint is often fairly opaque, but usually contains 20% transparent acrylic material. With the Acryla that's way less, it'll be as opaque as a gouache. It dries waterproof and in the same way as a gouache does.
