Het is inmiddels alweer twee weken geleden dat ik met Splendith op de PaperPassion in Tilburg stond. Wauw, wat was het een goede beurs! Ik ben echt heel blij hoe het is gegaan. Tot nu toe is dus elke beurs drukker geweest dan de vorige: thank youu! Het is zó leuk om jullie te spreken tijdens de beurs, de enthousiaste reacties te zien en jullie met mooie materialen en inspiratie naar huis te zien gaan. Dat is alle moeite van de beurs dubbel en dwars waard! Jullie geven me zoveel energie om Splendith te laten groeien, ik kan het niet vaak genoeg zeggen: zonder jou was er geen webshop!

En een dikke THANK YOUUUU voor alle hulp, want écht bijzonder hoeveel mensen helpen. Natuurlijk tijdens de beurs, grote kans dat je mijn zussen, moeder of man heb gespot! En bij de voorbereidingen: mijn schoonmoeder: voor alle hulp met inpakken, alle maaltijden dat ik zo kon aanschuiven, tante: voor je hulp met inpakken, mijn schoonvader: die alle kastjes heeft getimmerd en geverfd en heeft geholpen mijn op- en afbouwen. 

Ik blijf beurzen een uitdaging vinden, er komt zoveel samen in een paar dagen. Dat vergt een goede planning en dat  is gewoon niet mijn sterkste punt. Ik ben tot op zekere hoogte georganiseerd, maar in bepaalde dingen ook totaal niet. Zo onderschat ik altijd hoeveel tijd bepaalde taken kosten en dat er maar een 24 uur in een dag zitten. De dagen, weken voor de beurs heb ik vijf weken lang van 09.00u- 23.00u gewerkt. Zondagen uitgesloten en zaterdagen soms ook en af en toe een etenspauze of tijd voor een moment van inzinking of extreme blijheid. Voor de beurs had ik nogal veel fotografieopdrachten gehad, bleven mijn gewone werkzaamheden en was ik druk met de voorbereidingen voor de beurs. Iets too much leuke dingen: luxe probleem.

Misschien herken je het wel: als je een doel voor ogen heb, dat je vergeten op jezelf te letten. Tja, dat is niet echt goed voor je lichaam. Na zulke weken een stressvolle week en dan ben ik na de beurs echt helemaal kapot. En dan zijn er dingen zoals deadlines voor fotografie en een Belastingdienst, dus nog een extreem weekje er achter aan. Dan merk je dat je ook echt je rust moet nemen. Hoe leuk werk ook is ;). Er zullen dus mensen zijn die beurzen makkelijk doen --> not me. Toen ik deze week al m'n voorlopige deadlines langzaam afstreepte: de rust! 

Hierbij nog een fotoverslagje van de beurs. Op de foto's lijkt de beurs nogal rustig, dat was het zaterdagmiddag om 16.30u ook, haha! Zaterdagmiddag bedacht ik me eindelijk dat ik nog graag wat foto's wilde maken van de beurs zelf. De andere dagen was het steeds ineens 17.00u en dan was iedereen heel snel weg. De beurs zelf is dus niet super groot, maar ik hoorde meerdere keren van mensen dat er alsnog heel veel te zien was op het kleine oppervlakte. 

Oh en meet my sisters: die met de okergele sjaal is Priska en Lydia heeft een gestreept shirt aan.

It has been two weeks since I was at the PaperPassion in Tilburg with Splendith. Wow, what a good show it was! I am really happy with how it went. So far each fair has been busier than the last: thank youu! It's so nice to speak to you during the fair, to see the enthusiastic reactions, and to see you go home with beautiful materials and inspiration. That makes the effort I put into the fair worth it! You give me so much energy to let Splendith grow, I can't say it often enough: without you there wouldn't be a webshop!

And a big THANK YOUUUU for all the help, it's really special how many people want to help me out. Of course during the fair, chances are you spotted my sisters, mother or husband! And in the preparations: my mother-in-law: for all the help with packing, all the meals that you prepared for me, my aunt: for your help with packing, my father-in-law: who painted all the cupboards and helped me set up and take down.

I keep finding trade fairs a challenge, so much comes together in a few days. That requires good planning and that is simply not my strongest point. I am organized to some extent, but not at all in certain things. For example, I always underestimate how much time certain tasks take, and that there are only 24 hours in a day. The days and weeks before the fair I worked for five weeks from 9 am to 11 pm. Sundays excluded but Saturdays sometimes too and now and then a meal break or time for a moment of depression or extreme joy. Before the fair I had had quite a few photography assignments, my normal activities remained and I was busy with the preparations for the fair. A little too much nice stuff: luxury problem.

You may recognize it: if you have a goal in mind, you forget to pay attention to yourself. Well, that's not really good for your body. After such busy but fun weeks I'm overly tired. And then there are things like deadlines for photography and a tax authorities, so an extreme week afterwards. Then you notice that you really have to take your rest. No matter how nice work is;). So there will be people who do fairs easily -> not me. When I slowly checked all my provisional deadlines this week: the rest!

Here's a photo report of the fair. In the pictures the fair seems rather quiet, it was Saturday afternoon at 4.30 pm too, haha! Saturday afternoon I finally realized that I would like to take some pictures of the fair itself. The other days it was always suddenly 5 pm and then everyone was gone very quickly. The fair itself is not super big, but I heard from people several times that there was still a lot to see on the small surface.
