A new DIY Shop | A brand new DIY Shop!

by Judith Joosten 07 Nov 2016

nice scissors and beautiful paper

The time has finally come! YAY! My webshop is online! I almost can not believe it. How nice of you to take a look! In my webshop you will find great materials to make your DIYs. Splendith selects the best and happiest materials for you.

The right materials for your DIY project
If you make DIYs more often, you probably recognize the struggle to find beautiful and, above all, good materials, because oh: the Dutch craft market could use a revival! In my long searches for materials, I often find them at 4 different stores in the USA. Instead of spending hours searching, spend that time making super cool DIYs! And those euros that go up on your shipping costs can of course be better spent in my shop :). I hope that I can be your place on the internet where you can find inspiration but also the opportunity to do something with that inspiration!

Your own webshop
Ever since I started my MBO retail education, I had the dream of opening a small shop and starting a business. Part of that dream has already come true with my photography (Splendith Photography). Yet there was still something of that dream of opening a shop. At the end of the third year of my HBO Communication course, I took the plunge, designed a webshop and asked Thijs to build it. In the context of if you want something, you just have to start somewhere. Pats, boom. I really wanted to get started with my shop. My first plan was to start selling handmade garlands. Because: 'Oh my, you can make such nice garlands!!'. I made a shitload of garlands (my housemates and Paul can attest to this) and only had to arrange a few small things. Then I realized that I was living on 20m2 and at 2 other addresses, I was still a student, about to graduate and already had my own company. That was not a convenient combination. Truth to be told: I just hadn't thought it all out.

Online shop 2.0
Now, almost two years later, I have thought it all out better and prepared. Graduating was a perfect opportunity to do some good research and I now live in one house and even have an office! The plan has become much better, the webshop even more beautiful and I hopefully a little wiser, haha.

In addition to my webshop, I will share inspiration with you every week! Starting next week you can find a new DIY on the blog every week.

What do you think of the webshop? Do you have any nice ideas, do you know any brands that I should absolutely sell or do you have any comments? Love to hear your thoughts! :)

Love,
Judith
