Watercolor paper

Let’s take a closer look at our cold pressed and hot pressed watercolor paper! Hot pressed watercolor paper doesn’t really have a structure and is great for fine, detailed work. Because the paper has less structure, it doesn’t soak up as much paint and water. The colors you use on this paper will look very vibrant!

Cold pressed watercolor paper is the kind of paper that has a structure. How this looks is different for every kind of paper. Because of the structure, this type of paper soaks up more water and soaks it up faster. Cold pressed paper is often recommended for beginners.

The thickness of the paper is related to the amount of water it can handle. 240-300 grams paper will not bend immediately when you use a lot of water.
