Arches Watercolor Cold Pressed is a classic and widely used paper for watercolor. The paper is made from cotton fibers and weighs 300 grams. That is comparable to a postcard. Cotton absorbs moisture well, and the thicker the paper, the less it buckles. Important qualities when working with watercolor!
The difference between Cold Pressed and Hot Pressed:
Just like standard watercolor paper, the Arches Cold Pressed paper has a structure. This is an excellent combination with liquid watercolor. Do you want to try something different? Then Hot Pressed paper is a good idea for you! This paper is much smoother, so the paint reacts differently. It flows a little easier and therefore gives a different look to your illustration or painting.
