If you often make stamps yourself , you know that Speedy Carve from Speedball is a very nice material. And if you don't make stamps that often, I will briefly tell you why Speedy Carve is ideal for making stamps :). It is soft but not too flexible carving block, allowing you to cut very finely and precisely. The lines remain sharp and because the blocks are a bit thicker you do not need to strengthen them to use when stamping. But, the price of the Speedy Carve is a thing, it's so expensive!
I saw the Factis blocks passing by at Loes van Oosten 's a while ago. Loes is an illustrator who works a lot with stamping techniques. Maybe you already know her? A while later she told me about the blocks and at the fair I took a sample piece with me to try them myself! I was pleasantly surprised, because they definitely work almost the same as the Speedycarve. I didn't actually find any differences, except for the color of the blocks. Oh yes, thanks for the tip Loes!
Actually, I bought them straight away and within two weeks I had a whole pallet of carving blocks! Oh yes. That sounds very impressive, but because the carving blocks are so heavy, they are quickly transported by pallet. And there is no better advice than stock, haha. They have been in the shop since today. So they are definitely recommended <3.
Enjoy your weekend!
