Fabrics certainly have an appeal to me. I love walking through the fabric store or even better the cloth market in Utrecht. I see the possibilities with all fabrics and the things you can make with them. I certainly inherited that from my mother. We used to always joke about my mother having so many fabrics, JK still does ;). My mother had so many fabrics in the attic that we always had scraps to make doll clothes or to make something for ourselves. We had a mini fabric store to choose from. Because she also kept all the leftovers, nice cutting and pasting with fabrics. I now secretly have a large load of fabrics in my collection. And it still makes me very happy.
Over the years I have learned a lot about fabrics and which fabrics are suitable for different types of hobbies. I've definitely found my embroidery favorites! Since I have always only done free embroidery so far, these favorites are especially suitable for free embroidery.
Cotton
I prefer simple cotton with a beautiful weave. Cotton often has the most even weave. I explained how you can recognize that in last week's blog. I really found the perfect fabric for the shop! And the best thing is that the fabric is available in beautiful colors.
The thread of this fabric is even and the weave is also fine. Obviously cotton is a super extensive term. In the photo you can see the structure of the cotton, you can also find this fabric in the shop.
Linen cotton
Linen cotton is 'surprisingly' a mix between linen and cotton ;). This fabric often has a beautiful color nuance and the structure is also nice for embroidering! The weave is often slightly different from the cotton from the shop. It is certainly a nice material to work with!
Linen
Linen can sometimes have such a beautiful shine! The weave of linen can vary greatly, but I like it if it is a fine weave that is not too thin. Linen often looks luxurious and has a beautiful appearance. In the photo you can clearly see what I mean by that.
As a sidenote, I would like to add: the name of the substance is general. There are many variants per fabric type. The weave per fabric can certainly differ. In the shop you will find all my favorites! Then you don't have to look for the perfect fabric yourself, I have already done that for you :).

Cotton
A simple cotton fabric with a beautiful weave has my preference. Cotton mainly has the weaving that's the most even. In my last blog I told you how you can recognize that. For in the shop I found the most perfect fabric! And the best thing is that the fabric is available in the prettiest colors.
The thread of this fabric is even and the weave is thin. Of course cotton is a broad term. In the picture you see the structure of cotton, this one you can find in the shop.
Linen cotton
Linen cotton is 'surprisingly' a mix between linen and cotton ;). This fabric has a beautiful color nuance and the structure is beautiful to embroider on. The weave is often a bit more loose than the cotton of the shop. It's definitely a beautiful material to work with!
Linen
Linen sometimes has the most beautiful shine! The weave in linen can differ a lot, I personally love it when it has a fine weave, that's not too thin. Linen often has a luxurious feel to it and just looks beautiful. In the picture you can see what I mean with that.
As a sidenote, I would like to add: the name of the fabric is general. You have many variants per fabric type. The weaving per fabric can certainly differ. In the shop you'll find all my favorites! Then you don't have to search for the perfect fabric, I have already done that for you :).
