I have a beautiful new brand in the shop, Archer&Olive ! In recent months I have seen the beautiful books from Archer & Olive more and more often on Instagram and YouTube. I was so curious that I decided to order the booklets so that I could try them out for myself and so that you can easily get them too! I always like to find out a little more about who is behind a company, so I went looking for more information about Archer & Olive!
How it started
Archer & Olive was founded in 2014 by Bonnie Kuhl. She is from Austin, Texas and the fun and carefree atmosphere in the city is a source of inspiration for her illustrations. The company started as a wedding stationer, but quickly grew into something much bigger. Bonnie, an entrepreneur as well as an illustrator, loves everything that has to do with paper and has incorporated her cheerful and playful designs into stationery that you can use every day.
Fun fact : the name Archer & Olive comes from Bonnie's cats (and studio mascots!). Archer, in turn, is named after Bonnie's favorite font.
If you look at Archer & Olive's website, you will undoubtedly see the text ' Your journey to self-discovery starts here .' find. This text is not there by chance! In her college years, Bonnie was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. She found it difficult to understand this and learn to deal with it. It wasn't until a mentor introduced her to journaling that she felt like everything fell into place. Along with doctor-prescribed treatment, journaling helped her organize her thoughts, reduce her anxiety, and take control of her mental health. Because journaling has done her so much good, she wanted to share it with others and inspire everyone to keep a journal themselves. This resulted in the beautiful journals from Archer & Olive! The dotted booklets and planners are designed to help ambitious people achieve their goals and exercise their creativity.
Bullet journals with thick paper
What the booklets are so famous for is the paper. You can use all kinds of materials such as fountain pens, markers, markers, gouache, pencils and much more. They stay open very nicely because each page is bound by hand. What is also great about the booklets is that there are so many colors and prints to choose from! There are a number of designs with different flowers, but also very beautiful solid colors with beautiful images printed in gold or silver foil. What is also nice is that the booklets are available as a dotted notebook and as a sketchbook. They both have 160 pages of white, 160 gram paper. The dots of the dotted notebooks are very nicely aligned, which makes me very happy. There is also an undated planner. The sketchbooks, the dotted notebooks and the planner have a pocket in the back, an elastic to keep it nice and closed, a pen holder and two ribbons. There is something for everyone in terms of design or paper!
Do you love beautiful stationery, being creative, planning and (bullet) journals? Then the Archer & Olive booklets are really something for you! Which design is your favorite?
Love,
Judith
