Joyce is queen of calligraphy, so who better to learn from?

Five years ago, as a teacher in training, I found a way to spend less time on school and internships - namely planning my wedding far too intensively. With a small student budget and a creative background, I decided to make it a real 'do it yourself' wedding. I spent hours on Pinterest, which was still full of mint green mason jars with baby's breath decorations. Among all that inspiration I found something new, something I had never seen before: hand-calligraphed invitations and envelopes. I found it fascinating and started researching how this worked and what it entailed.

I soon discovered that this was typically American and barely available in the Netherlands. Not in the way I wanted it anyway. So I started with modern calligraphy with the most *shitty* materials (again; there was nothing good to be found here..) and all the blogs I could find.

For myself. For our own envelopes. It was never my intention to do more with this. Until I saw what potential modern calligraphy still had in the Netherlands. I saw the demand, responded to it and went all the way. This is how my entrepreneurial adventure began and I have not regretted it for a moment.

What it has brought me is priceless - namely years of trial and error, perseverance and experience in entrepreneurship. I was allowed to work for brands that I never dared to dream of. Nowadays I am mainly active as a coach for novice creative entrepreneurs, but despite this new step in my business, I did not want to lose all my calligraphy experience.

That is why Judith and I will join forces from today. With her beautiful, extensive shop full of high-quality materials and my years of calligraphy experience, we will ensure that you have everything you need to become an experienced calligrapher.
